China has announced on Friday, that a vaccine for coronavirus will be tested in two months on humans, while the number of deaths due to the virus during the past 24 hours has reached 118 people.
In a press conference, the Vice Minister of Science and Technology Xu Nanping said that the first vaccine for the emerging virus, which has killed more than 2,000 people in China alone will be subject to clinical trials in late April.
The World Health Organization announced last week that researchers are working to find a vaccine that treats coronavirus, adding that it is conducting in-depth research to determine the cause of the disease.
Moreover, the Chinese authorities announced on Friday, that the number of deaths caused by the new virus has risen to 2,238 people, and has infected 75,465 others.
The number of deaths during the past 24 hours due to the virus was up to 118 people, according to a statement of the State Health Committee in China.
Furthermore, the Health Commission in Chinese Hubei Province, announced that the number of people infected with coronavirus in Hubei Province alone had increased by the end of Thursday, February 20, from 411 to 631, after adding 220 new cases from inside the prison.
This brings the total number of the infected people in the Chinese province since the beginning of the outbreak, on the 12th of last December, to 62,662 cases, according to what Bloomberg has quoted the UNHCR statement.
