The extent of the destruction of buildings, and rubble bear witness to the prosperity of al-Lairamoun Factories, the industrial area of the city of Aleppo. This area is adjacent to the neighborhoods of al-Lairamoun and al-Zahraa Association.
In this area, North-Press camera toured between buildings and rubbles, and briefed the extent of the damage left by the clashes accompanied artillery shelling and warplanes air strikes, in the Syrian government forces-held area of al-Lairamoun factories.
The destruction didn't only affect the surface of the area, rather, even the interior layers of its ground were wreaked havoc by the armed opposition groups, during heir control over the area.
Moreover, North-Press, accompanied by members of the Syrian government forces, spotted the secret passages that the members of the armed opposition groups were using during their years of control over the area.
Al-Lairamoun area was first controlled in 2012 by the armed opposition groups after the engagement with the Syrian government forces, as the area was subsequently bombed by Syrian Army and its warplanes, in addition to the barrel bombs of the military helicopters.
The opposition armed groups regained control over al-Lairamoun area in the first half of 2015, after losing it to the government forces early the same year.
After 2015, the Syrian government forces and the armed opposition groups took turns in controlling the area, before the government forces took a complete control on February 16th, and advanced towards Kafr Hamra, Hraytan, and other areas in Aleppo’s north-western countryside.
Thus, the entire city of Aleppo was secured against the shells of the opposition groups, which were stationed in al-Lairamoun and other rural areas near the city.
