Two new crimes in ISIS’ Hawl Camp eastern Syria’s Hasakah

HAWL, Syria (North Press) –Kurdish-led Internal Security Forces (Asayish) in Hawl camp, south Hasakah, found bodies of a man and a woman inside the camp, on Saturday, after they were shot with a silencer pistol.

Hawl camp, which houses more than 70,000 people including families of ISIS members, always witnesses killing and stabbing incidents.

A security source from the camp confirmed to North Press that the 36-year- old man descended from Deir ez-Zor and he sold cell-phones inside the camp.

Meanwhile, the murdered woman had not been identified yet, according to the source.

The source further explained that investigation was on-going to recognize the reasons after murdering of the two unrelated man and woman, according to the initial information.

In August, a group disguised in women dress attacked Asayish forces in the Iraqi refugees’ section, wounding at least three members.

Asayish said they managed to repel the attack, while the camp was still witnessing a security alert to arrest the armed group.

Hawl camp includes the largest number of ISIS women and children in Syria and Iraq, whose number reaches about 11 thousand people. According to the camp administration, the total number of its residents reaches more than 65 thousand people, distributed in 13 thousand tents. Among them, more than 40 thousand children.

The camp witnesses from time to time escape attempts by the families of ISIS members, in addition to assassinations and incidents in which tents are burned, as the camp administration says that militants are behind it.

The smuggling of ISIS families and women is not uncommon in Hawl Camp, previously, North Press posted video footage and documents that showed truck drivers affiliated with humanitarian organizations smuggling members of ISIS families from the camp.
