ISIS claims responsibility for attack on Iraqi army outpost
ERBIL, KRI (North Press) – On Friday, the Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility for an attack on an outpost of the Iraqi army in eastern al-Anbar, western Iraq.
The ISIS-run Amaq news agency said the group’s militants attacked with two mortars a military outpost of the Iraqi army on a highway east of Rutbah in eastern al-Anbar.
The attack resulted in material damages, whereas no casualties or injuries have been confirmed, the agency added.
Recently, ISIS has intensified its attacks against the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Syria and the Iraqi army in Iraq.
On Friday, al-Naba online ISIS-linked newspaper released results of the group’s operations during the past week, it conducted 22 operations, including five operations in Syria and five in Iraq, in which 76 people were killed and wounded.
