Turkish drone attack claims two lives in Syria’s Derik

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, two individuals lost their lives in a Turkish drone attack, targeting the countryside of the city of Derik, far northeast Syria.

Local sources that were in the targeted site told North Press a Turkish drone shelled a car at the turn-off of the village of Tel Jamal, affiliated with Girke Lege, in the countryside of Derik.

As a result, other individuals were wounded, but no information was received about their number and the extent of injuries they sustained.

Neither of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) nor the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) have commented on the incident till the moment this report was prepared.

On Monday, a Turkish drone shelled the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) building in the city of Kobani, north Syria.

The Executive Council of the AANES condemned the drone strike against its offices causing material damage.

In a statement, the Executive Council said the Turkish state “continues its terrorist acts in Syria in general and in northeast Syria in particular.”
