Person wounded in Turkish shelling of town in Syria’s Aleppo

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) A person was injured on Monday in a Turkish shelling of the town of Tel Rifaat in the northern countryside of Aleppo, northern Syria.

A local source told North Press, “The Turkish shelling of Tel Rifaat resulted in slight injuries for a person who was taken to a hospital as a result.”

The source said that the Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition factions, known as Syrian National Army (SNA), also shelled “the village of Bilouniyah in Tel Rifaat countryside.”

The source added, “The government forces shelled with four rockets the outskirts of a Turkish base in the village of Basoufan in Aleppo northern countryside,” noting that the shells fell on the vicinity of the base and the road leading to it.

The town of Tel Rifaat, 35 km north of Aleppo city, has been a shelter for Afrin displaced people since 2018 following the Turkish invasion of Afrin and its countryside in 2018 which resulted in the displacement of about 300.000 of the original inhabitants.
