IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – De-escalation zone in the countryside of Aleppo, Idlib and Hama in northwest Syria continued to witness on Sunday mutual shelling between Syrian government forces and Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, known as Syrian National Army (SNA), on various axes.

According to what opposition sources told North Press, the government forces, using 80 artillery shells and rockets, targeted opposition positions in the villages and towns of Fatterah, Kafr Oweid, Sfuhen, Kansafra, Benin, Ruweiha in Zawiya Mountain, south of Idlib.  It also struck the villages of Khirbat al-Naqus and Sirmaniyah, west of Hama.

Meanwhile, North Press was informed that al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room targeted with heavy artillery the positions of the government forces in Base 46, south of Idlib.

Al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room includes the National Liberation Front, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and Jaysh al-Izza. The military bloc is active in Idlib and Hama countryside.

The areas in the de-escalation zone in northwestern Syria continue to witness daily exchange of bombardment between the SNA factions and the government forces, despite being part of the ceasefire agreement signed between Russia and Turkey in March 2020, which stipulates a halt of military action in Idlib.
