New military reinforcements of Turkey enter Syrian territory

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – A military column of Turkish forces entered on Saturday night Syrian territories through Bab al-Salama border crossing in Azaz, north of Aleppo.

The column, which included military equipment, ammunition and vehicles, headed to the Turkish posts in the area, a source from region told North Press.

The source added that the Turkish-backed Levant Front (al-Jabha al-Shamiya) accompanied the column until it reached the Scientific Researches Center on Azaz-Yahmoul road in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

Turkey keeps sending military reinforcements to its posts in Syria amid escalation in clashes between Syrian government forces and Turkish-backed SNA.

Although the de-escalation zone in northwest Syria is subjected to a Russian-Turkish ceasefire agreement signed in March 2020, the area witnesses frequent mutual bombardment despite the entry of the ceasefire into force.

In March 2020, Russia and Turkey reached an agreement in Moscow that stipulated a ceasefire, the establishment of a safe corridor, and the conduct of joint patrols on the M4/Aleppo-Latakia Highway.
