Syrian army will strongly defend Tel Rifaat – Syrian official military source

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – An official military source in the Syrian government reiterated on Wednesday that Syria will deal with any Turkish attack on its territory as an invading force.

“Any Turkish attack on Tel Rifaat will met with a strong response from the Syrian army with the support of the Russian and Iranian allies,” the source told North Press.

On June 1, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan renewed his threats of launching a military operation on northern Syria, and specified his targets in the two Syrian cities of Manbij and Tel Rifaat, which include many Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

“Turkey aims to annex parts of Syria and threaten the integrity of the Syrian territory,” he added.

He reiterated that the Syrian army would deal with any possible attack as an invading force.

Russian helicopters flew at a low altitude over the city of Tel Rifaat in the northern countryside of Aleppo, in tandem with Russian-Turkish meetings in Ankara.

Media reports said that huge reinforcements of government forces arrived in Tel Rifaat in recent days.
