13 dead, injured in Turkish shelling of Syria’s Manbij countryside in six months
MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – The Manbij Military Council of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) revealed on Thursday the total toll of the Turkish violations along the front lines between its forces and the Turkish-backed opposition (SNA) factions over the past six months.
According to the official website of the Manbij Military Council, 13 people, including three children and three women, were wounded by Turkish shelling of several villages in the northern and northwestern countryside of Manbij, north Aleppo.
19 villages on the front line were hit with various types of weapons and 10 drone attacks.
Similarly, the villages of al-Muhsinli, Aoun al-Dadat, al-Sayyada, al-Yalanli, Qart, Yaran, al-Hoshariya and al-Jat were mostly bombed over the past six months.
“The aim of the Turkish continuous bombing operations is to strike the security and stability in the city of Manbij. They also aim at displacing the residents so that they can easily carry out the demographic change operations,” the council said.
The villages, which are on the border strip between the Autonomous Administration-controlled areas and those under the control of Turkey, are constantly subjected to the continuous bombardment. The bombing resulted in killing and injuring dozens of people and great material damage.
