Protesters in Syria’s Daraa call for release of detainees
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Dozens of residents of Daraa al-Balad, south Syria, staged protests, on Friday, in the yard of al-Omari mosque demanding the release of detainees.
The protesters gathered in the al-Omari mosque’s yard and called for the immediate release of detainees, a local source told North Press.
The protesters raised banners demanding that the Russian guarantor keeps the promises they made three years ago on releasing the detainees in the Syrian government’s prisons, the source added.
The protesters stressed that they would go ahead “in fulfilling the objectives of the revolution to topple the regime and achieve justice.”
Last week, the Daraa governorate witnessed protests in different areas in tandem with the 11th anniversary of the eruption of the Syrian war.
