Turkish forces launch gas bombs on Syria’s Idlib, residents injured

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Friday evening, a number of residents in the camps for the IDPs in north of Idlib, northwest Syria, suffered from suffocation, nausea and other symptoms, as a result of tear gas launched by the Turkish forces inside one of the tunnels near the Syrian-Turkish border.

“The most unpleasant and strange smells spread this evening in Kafr Losin and Aqrabat camps adjacent to the Syrian-Turkish border north of Idlib, their source being Turkish lands,” local sources told North Press.

The sources added, “Many residents, especially children, felt suffocation and nausea, along with itchy eyes due to these strange smells.”

According to the sources, it was found that the cause of the smells was the Turkish gendarmerie throwing large quantities of tear gas into a tunnel prepared for smuggling into Turkish territory near the town of Kafr Losin, north of Idlib.

Medical sources at the Sukoon Specialized Hospital told North Press that more than 20 cases arrived suffering from suffocation and redness in the eyes, in addition to severe itching in the nose and eyes, without any serious cases.
