Russia military vehicle targeted in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – An IED that was planted in a motorbike in the town of Izra’, in the eastern countryside of Daraa, south Syria, exploded, on Saturday, when a Russian military vehicle passed by.

The explosion occurred when a Russian military vehicle picking Russian soldiers was travelling on a route in the countryside of Izra’, sources of the town said.   

Meanwhile, no casualties or wounded were reported and the losses were limited to only damages to the motorbike, according to the sources.

The explosion coincided with explosion of another IED by military unites of the Syrian government forces that was planted on the side of Damascus-Oman Highway, west of Izra’, in the eastern countryside of Daraa, eyewitnesses told North Press.

The targeting of the Russian patrol is the first of its kind since the settlement process finished on November 3 and the second since the settlement process had begun where a Russian patrol was targeted on Damascus-Oman Highway in October.
