Intra-clan fighting leaves casualty in Syria’s east Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – As a result of an intra-clan fight in a town east Deir ez-Zor, east Syria, an individual lost his life on Tuesday.
Ahmed al-Makhlaf lost his life due to an intra-clan fight that took place on Tuesday morning between al-Za’abi and al-Dawi families of al-Akidat clan, an eyewitness in the town of al-Jarzi, 75 kilometers east of Deir ez-Zor, told North Press.
The reason behind the fight goes back to a piece of land, according to the source.
“During the fight, that lasted for about an hour, machine guns were used and then Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) intervened settle the dispute completely,” the source added.
Towns of the Deir ez-Zor countryside, which are dominated by tribal character, always witness intra-clan fighting.
A week ago, a civilian lost his life and another was wounded during an intra-clan fight in the town of al-Harmoshiyya, east Deir ez-Zor.
