Syria’s Autonomous Administration records 232 new coronavirus infections

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the Health Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced the recording of 232 new coronavirus infections and seven deaths in northeast Syria.

AANES’ Facebook page quoted Jiwan Mustafa, co-chair of the AANES Health Board, who stated that the deaths were a man and a woman from Qamishli, a man and a woman from Hasakah, a man and woman from Manbij and a man from Derik.

Most of the infections today were concentrated in Qamishli 51 cases, Hasakah 32, Deir ez-Zor 38, Tabqa 32, Raqqa 28, and Derik 23.

 Other infections were distributed in Roj Camp 11 cases, Derbasiya 10, and three in each Kobani and Manbij.

Meanwhile, the AANES Health Board recorded 12 new recoveries.

With the announcement of these new cases, the number of people infected with coronavirus in the regions of northeast Syria has reached 14,281 confirmed cases, including 469 deaths and 1,456 recoveries.

This new toll comes on the eighth day of the complete lockdown imposed in the northeastern regions of Syria.
