Russian military police conduct second patrol this week in Syria’s Derik
DERIK, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, Russian Military Police conducted a patrol in the countryside of Derik, in the far northeast region of Syria.
Local sources from the village of Sarmsakh Tahtani, in the western countryside of Derik, told North Press that a Russian patrol consisting of four armored vehicles and accompanied by two helicopters passed the village heading towards villages west of Derik.
Last Saturday, Russian forces conducted a patrol in the same region.
Recently, Russian forces have intensified their efforts to establish a military post in the region, amid protests from residents.
