Autonomous Administration: We had no promises for vaccine against coronavirus

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Jiwan Mustafa, Co-chair of the Health Board of the Autonomous Administration North East Syria (AANES) Said on Tuesday that the Administration had not got any promises for a vaccine against coronavirus.

American, German, Russian companies and others announced that they managed to produce vaccines against coronavirus.

A COVID-19 vaccine may be contributed to the most vulnerable in the world by March 2021, Bruce Aylward, Senior Advisor to the Director-General, Organizational Change, said in a press conference in November.

“Partial lockdown will enter into effect after the complete lockdown,” Jiwan Mustafa, Co-chair of the Health Board of AANES, said.

The Crisis Management Team imposed a complete lockdown on each of Raqqa, Tabqa, Hasakah, and Qamishli until Saturday to limit the coronavirus outbreak.

Mustafa stated that there was coordination with the Syrian government forces regarding the continuation of air traffic at the airport of Qamishli, which is under the control of the latter.

“We do not know whether people are subjected to COVID-19 test or not,” he added.
