We are committed to supporting SDF, no withdrawal from Syria, Global Coalition

REMAILAN, Syria (North Press) – The Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the US-led Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, General Kevin Copsey said on Tuesday, that the Coalition is committed to supporting the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) since the mission of defeating ISIS has not been ended yet.

He stressed that the withdrawal decision of the American troops from Iraq was not related to the American troops in Syria, rather, the forces are switched and relocated every now and then, “and this does not mean a withdrawal from Syria,” he added.

This came in a press conference held on Tuesday, with the SDF in the town of Remailan northeast Syria.

On Tuesday, the SDF official spokesman, Kino Gabriel, received the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the US-led Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, General Kevin Copsey, and the official military Spokesman of Operation Inherent Resolve (@OIRSpox), Col. Wayne Marotto in the @coalition base in Remailan.

During the conference, Copsey stated that they would continue supporting SDF regarding ISIS detention centers.

“The Turkish state should support the political path to reach a solution and abandon escalation in north and east Syria,” he confirmed.

As for the Iranian issue and the action of the Iranian-backed groups in Syria, Copsey said that their mission is to defeat ISIS and support the SDF.

In a previous exclusive interview with North Press, Marotto said that  that the Global Coalition will stay in Syria to continue carrying out their mission to ensure ISIS enduring defeat.
