Fuel committee of Syria’s Deir ez-Zor refuses receiving heating oil
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, the fuel committee in the town of ash-Sha’fah, 100 km east of Syria’s Deir ez-Zor, refused for the second time within a week, to receive their diesel allocations for services due to its poor quality.
Raed al-Hor, director of the fuel committee in the town of ash-Sha’fah, told North Press that they refused to receive two tanks of the diesel allocated to them because of its poor quality.
“Their refusal was based on a request from the area’s residents.”
Ahmad al-Taroush, a resident of ash-Sha’fah, told North Press that their refusal to receive diesel fuel this year was due to their suffering last year.
He added that last year the heating oil was frozen as a result of mixing it with materials such as water or crude oil, and we did not benefit from it.
Al-Hor declared that they are in direct coordination with the General Fuel Committee in the Deir ez-Zor Civil Council to work on improving the heating oil and increasing its quantity due to the high population density.
The fuel committee of the Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria (AANES) set the price of a liter of diesel at 75 Syrian pounds SYP.
AANES announced on June, the start of distributing heating oil, and it determined the quantities allocated to each family and the price of one liter of diesel.
