Russian and Turkish forces conduct joint patrol in Syria’s Kobani
KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, Russian military police conducted a joint patrol with Turkish forces east of the northern Syrian city of Kobani, as a continuation of a Russian-Turkish agreement reached last year.
The patrol, consisting of eight Russian and Turkish military vehicles accompanied by two Russian helicopters, left the village of Gharib towards the village of Khaneh, east of Kobani.
The Turkish vehicles returned to Turkey at the starting point in Gharib, while the Russian vehicles returned to their center at a radio tower west of Kobani.
These patrols are part of an agreement reached by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on October 22 last year. This patrol is the 30th of its kind in the Kobani countryside since the ceasefire agreement.
Russian forces conducted the 29th joint patrol with Turkey in the western countryside of Kobani in mid-October.
