Government official targeted in Syria’s Damascus

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Unknown individuals targeted the head of the military security detachment of the city of Quneitra on Tuesday, near the town of Kanaker in the western countryside of Damascus.

This came after government forces arrested an individual protesting the detainment of three women from the town, local sources said.

Government forces fired into the air to force the civilians to end their peaceful protests demanding the release of detainees.

During the protests, young men in Kanaker burned a photo of Syrian President Bashar Assad.
