After few days of absence, the U.S. forces have repositioned at the entrances of the town of Tal Tamr to monitor the roads, and closing the roads in the face of the Russian military patrols towards Qamishli in the east and Hasakah in the west, while permitting them to cross towards the M4 highway.
In the third day periodically, the Russian forces conducted their patrols today towards the M4 highway after the absence of the U.S. forces in the last three days, which were going on closing the roads in the face of the Russian armored vehicles to move towards any directions for 10 days.
On Wednesday, the town of Tal Tamr, west of Hasakah, witnessed a redeployment of the U.S. armored vehicles at the western and southern entrances of the town after a tension which took place with the Russian forces in the area, to prevent the latter from moving through their point at al-Baqer station, northern Tal-Tamr.
In a statement to North-Press on Wednesday, a U.S. soldier, who refused to speak in front of the camera, said that permitting the Russian forces to cross towards the M4 highway, came as a result of the understandings between the commands of the both forces to let the latter to conduct their regular military patrols in the area.
Another U.S. soldier, who was accompanying the patrol in the village of Gir Ziyaret in the countryside of Derik (Malikiya), stated to North-Press on January 21st that "They have a plan to prevent the crossing of the Russian military vehicles in the area,” adding that they will pursue the Russian patrols and convoys and prevent them to enter the U.S. forces’ presence areas.
In another context, the Turkish-backed armed opposition groups bombarded the village of Um al-Kheir in the district of Abu-Rasin (Zargan), in the eastern countryside of Sere-Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), amid flights of the Turkish military drones over the area of Tal-Tamr.
On Saturday, the U.S. forces had intercepted a Russian patrol in the main roundabout of the town of Tal-Tamr, which was heading towards the city of Qamishli, northeastern Syria, to be forced to move back to its positions.
In a press conference last Saturday, the Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman said that the American forces will stay in their positions in northeastern Syria, while stressing on keeping the contact with their Russian counterparts to avoid any clashes between the two sides.
