Yesterday, an explosive device near a Syrian government forces checkpoint in Daraa governorate detonated, resulting in six injuries.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said that the number of attacks and assassination attempts carried out by armed groups from last June until today has reached more than 452.
It added that the number of those killed in these attempts reached 293, among them seven women and four children. This is in addition to 157 members of government forces and their allied militias, and 46 former opposition militants who made deals and settlements with the government. The rest are from Hezbollah and a group known as the 5th Corps (a group formerly associated with the opposition who is now allied with the regime).
An explosive device, planted by unknown perpetrators, exploded near Syrian government checkpoint at the old cemetery in the Abbasiyya area of Daraa, which resulted in six injuries of varying severity, according to the SOHR.
On May 11th, the body of a former member of the armed opposition groups who had made a deal with the Syrian government and joined the military security apparatus was found shot to death on al-Shiyah road in the city of Daraa.
The Daraa governorate is witnessing security tension and several explosions, including explosive devices, mines, shootings, and assassinations carried out by unidentified individuals and officers of the Syrian government forces, in addition to civilians and elements of reconciliation on an ongoing basis.
