Deaths and injuries among opposition in government bombing south of Idlib

On Friday, Syrian government forces intensified their artillery shelling of the Idlib and Hama countrysides, killing two opposition militants and wounding five others.

 

Syrian government forces bombarded the locations of armed opposition groups in areas such as Kansafra, al-Bara, Sufohn and al-Fatira in al-Zawiya mountain in the southern countryside of Idlib, killing two and wounding five others, a field source told North-Press.

A field source told North-Press that on Thursday-Friday at midnight, Syrian government forces targeted several locations of Turkish-backed armed opposition groups in the areas of Kansafra, Fleifel and Sufohn in the southern countryside of Idlib, and the village of Rweiha, north of Ma`rat al-Numan, and the villages of Qasr and Kafr Aama in Aleppo's western countryside with artillery.

 

Opposition groups shot down a Syrian government reconnaissance aircraft from the airspace over Kafr Nabl and Al-Bara.

 

The ceasefire reached upon an agreement between Turkish President Erdogan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on March 5th entered its 71st day in a row amid repeated violations in the region between Syrian government forces and Turkish-backed opposition groups.
