Since August 5, members of the Islamic Democratic Society Conference have been holding a sit-in in the city of Qamishli near the local stadium (Martyrs Stadium of March 12) to denounce Turkish threats to invade northern and eastern Syria.

Mullah Mohammad Gharzi, co-chair of the Shura Council at the Democratic Islamic Society Conference, said from under the sit-in tent for North-Press, “The Turkish threats contradict the teachings of the Quran in coexistence and brotherhood, calling on the Muslim world and Muslim personalities to “raise their voice to stop Turkey at its borders.”

Dozens of religious figures and scholars are participating in the sit-in tent every day. The sit-in includes delivering speeches denouncing Turkish threats to invade northern and eastern Syria.

The members of the conference are scheduled to end their sit-in tomorrow after Friday prayers, by reciting a statement to the public.

It is worth mentioning that the Islamic Democratic Society Conference is a religious institution that manages the affairs of religious institutions, organizations, and offices in northern and eastern Syria.
