IED blast kills 3 members of government forces in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Three members of the Syrian government forces were killed on Wednesday when an explosive device targeted a military vehicle transporting them in northern Daraa, southern Syria.

A local source told North Press that the three victims were members of the General Intelligence Directorate affiliated with the government forces. They were killed when an explosive device detonated near their vehicle, which was traveling close to the town of Mahajjah in northern Daraa.

The source added that the attack took place near the “Al-Kam” weapon depots along the Damascus-Daraa highway, an area under government control and regarded as a security zone.

The source also noted that the government forces, including officers and several personnel, arrived at the scene shortly after the attack and conducted a search of the area in an effort to locate the perpetrators.

On Nov. 2, unidentified gunmen shot a government soldier to death in Daraa.
