Unknown gunmen, ISIS attack SDF fighters in east, NE Syria

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, unknown gunmen wounded two fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) east of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria, and Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility for attacking SDF fighters in Hasakah, northeast the country.

Eyewitnesses told North Press that unknown gunmen, riding a motorcycle, targeted SDF fighters on the main road in the village of Burayha in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

The targeting resulted in the injury of two SDF fighters who were transported to a field hospital in the village, according to the source.

In Hasakah, ISIS-run Amaq News Agency said in a statement that the groups militants targeted SDF fighters in al-Salehiya neighborhood in the city center.

On Feb. 4, ISIS claims responsibility for launching an attack against members of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) in eastern Deir ez-Zor.
