US Department of State’s delegation to meet with tribes’ leaders in Raqqa

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – A US State Department delegation held a meeting on Friday with tribes’ leaders of Raqqa and Tabqa, to ensure ongoing US supports Kurdish-led areas.

The delegation said that US planned for future projects in order to support the stability of the area, and that their partnership with Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) was on-going.

A source attended the meeting, confirmed to North Press that the two parties discussed the region’s general situation and especially in Raqqa and Tabqa.

Raqqa and Tabqa’s tribes’ leaders called on US delegation to support the area in order to improve and settle the services and economic conditions in their areas, according to the source.

Meanwhile, US State Department representatives stressed that they would work through local and global organizations to improve and settle the region by implementing many future projects in both Raqqa and Tabqa.

The delegation pointed out to the continuation of the partnership between US and Global Coalition with SDF and people of the region.

“We know that Raqqa’s people provided lots of casualties and material loses against ISIS, and Americans appreciate all this scarification,” the delegation said, according to the source.

The delegation stated, “Americans support people of North and East Syria, and in the near future we will accomplish projects that will settle and support both Raqqa and Tabqa, that have remained under ISIS control for so long”.

Raqqa city was venerably destroyed due to fighting that SDF conducted accompanied with the Global Coalition raids against ISIS.
